Students at Harris Academy, a comprehensive school in Dundee, Scotland, will perform Julian Wagstaff's new work 'Harris Fanfare' as the opening piece in the official ceremony to mark the opening of the new school building. The ceremony will be attended by Scotland's Deputy First Minister John Swinney, who will formally open the new building. The Harris Fanfare was written with the help of students at the school, on the basis of a composer workshop.


June 2017
Julian will continue to work with students at Harris Academy, Dundee, in 2017, to create an additional piece of new music for student performance. A longer work for a large-scale student ensemble will premiere in Dundee's Caird Hall in the summer of 2017. Further details will be announced on this page in due course.
