John Paul Jones is a historical epic on the life of the Scots-born hero of the American Revolution. With a melodic and uplifting score and a brisk storyline, the musical tells the incredible true story of Jonesí life Ė a tale of triumph and tragedy, love and loss, and the effect of one manís consuming ambition on those closest to him.
We are delighted to announce the success of two special concert performances of John Paul Jones, recently given by members of the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, Consort of Voices and guests in the Queen's Hall, Edinburgh, on 24 and 25 September 2010. We would like to thank everyone who worked so hard to make the concerts such an overwhelming success, and to everyone who supported them.
This professional production featured a brand new, semi-staged version of the musical, with new orchestrations and a revised libretto written in collaboration with London-based scriptwriter Joel Jenkins. The conductor and musical director was Simon Hanson; the stage director was Christopher Neil; the chorus master was Stuart Hope. The cast was as follows:
Capt. John Paul Jones - Paul Allison
Lt. Richard Dale - Ali Floyd
Robert Burns - Douglas Nairne
Janet Taylor - Natalie Toyne
Benjamin Franklin - John Canmore
Jack McClue - David Maule
Countess Nicolson ("Delia") - Helen Wilding

Invest in the show
The two concerts of John Paul Jones in Edinburgh in September 2010 were just the start of an exciting and ambitious project to present a professional UK tour of a new fully-staged version of the show. If the tour is successful, the aspiration is to then take the show forward to London's West End and international presentation.
Our vision is to create a Scottish-based professional touring company, capable of presenting the musical to the very highest international standards. We are seeking cultural investors willing to invest a minimum of £5,000 in this project. To register for a prospectus, with absolutely no obligation, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Who are we?
The present production is presented by Julian Wagstaff of Poor Richard Productions (the composer) and David Williams of Theatrical Solutions (former General Manager of Scottish Ballet).
